This past month, in anticipation of the excitement and influx of visitors expected in Kansas City for the World Cup, I decided to revisit and compile some of the most interesting essays, stories, poems, and visual explorations we published on Kawsmouth between 2012 and 2023.
With so many people coming here for the first time, and with longtime residents taking a fresh look in the mirror, it seemed like an opportune time to reflect on our explorations of the region and share them with new readers and old friends.
It’s a bit bittersweet looking back at such a fruitful and specific time, and we haven’t ruled out doing new things with the publication either in print or online. But for now, I hope you click on a few of these tabs and file them away for a deep dive into the character and curiosities of Kansas City, USA.
